An Ode to the Dorm Room

I'm done with school! I got a job in mobilization and am renting not far from my place of work. I can't get over how quiet silence actually is. Seriously. What a precious, coveted thing!

Oh! Dorm room! Dorm room!
Thou hast served us well!
Despite the wax spills, makeup stains and clothes strewn pell-mell
You loved us in the stressful times
You sheltered us from prying eyes
Your paper thin walls allowed us to hear
Every irritating sound that might reach our ears
You gave of yourself
Offering all your meager wealth
You are our friend of unusual form
Room 301 in the girl's dorm!

    1. Thanks Hannah! And thanks for reading! I've been looking at your blog lately and I love your photography and heart-to-heart style of writing. Plus you come up with some of the most creative titles I've ever seen! Keep it up!

  3. Congratulations on your new found freedom. I assumed from this post that you gathered together your dorm mates and orated this poem before them with smiling face. The picture in my mind of this compels me to say bravo ;) I can't say I know what you mean by mobilization, perhaps military or to to with missions, either way, may God bless you in your new endeavors. "Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it. Psalm 37:4-5" God bless!

    1. I was actually going to post a picture of the dorm room mentioned, all messy and neglected as I have described, but I'd rather people use their imaginations. ;)
You were right, missions mobilization is my passion. I don't want to do it forever, but as long as the Lord keeps me in the states I want to mobilize for the kingdom.
Thanks for the verse! That is one of my life verses. As long as we are delighting ourselves in the Lord--He becomes the desire of our heart. Our desires and His are merged in one single goal: His glory.
      Thanks for the encouragement!

    2. That's awesome! Which mission group are you mobilizing for?
Here is another great verse for the work you're now a part of: "Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. John 5:25" Isn't that wonderful! May God truly bless you in your ministry and give you even more a heart of love and joy in this work. :)

    3. Thanks for the encouraging verse! I read it a couple of times. Been reflecting on Psalm 113 and remembering that life is just one big adventure that will end at his throne. No matter what I do, no matter how weak I feel, as long as it done with a pure, obedient heart, he is fully pleased with me. Isn't that crazy to think--the Father God is FULLY pleased with us!

As for your question...I will tell you which group I am mobilizing though, but FIRST you must tell me your first name. It's not blackmail, it's only fair. :)
